Manga series, Parasyte, to be a live-action Korean drama series on Netflix
The popular manga series, Parasyte, (which also has an anime adaptation on Netflix) will get a Korean Drama set in the same universe but with a different story. Netflix will stream the show exclusively worldwide, according to ANN.
The original story alien beings known as Parasites come to Earth and take over human beings. A high school student named Izumi Shinichi is attacked by one such being. However it was not able to fully take over Shinichi’s mind. Instead, it takes over his right arm. They eventually learn to co-exist and even battle other Parasites.
The Netflix K-drama version will instead focus on a character (played by Jeon So-Nee) who is attacked by a Parasite, but is not taken over and co-exists with them, much like Shinichi. A character played by Lee Jung-Hyun is the leader of The Grey, a Special Forces unit that specifically target Parasites.
The series is to be called Parasyte: The Greys and will stream sometime in 2023.
